Terms of Use
Last updated 5 November 2026
These terms apply to the KHOC Manager website at khocmanager.com, its JSON API and the KHOC Manager mobile app (together, "the service"), provided by Yard8 Limited ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using a link we text you, you agree to them.
Yard8 Limited, company number 14677042, registered in England and Wales, registered office: Ground Floor, Nautica House Waters Meeting Road Bolton BL1 8SW England to 5 Canon Court Institute Street Bolton BL1 1P. Email: hello@yard8.co.uk.
What the service is
KHOC Manager is an unofficial, independent tool made to help a Kingdom Hall Operating Committee keep on top of maintenance jobs, schedules and accounts. It is not produced, endorsed or supported by any religious organisation, and it does not replace the committee's own procedures or official forms. It helps a committee plan maintenance jobs, assign volunteers, send reminders, and keep simple accounts. The committee remains responsible for its own decisions, records and reporting.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over and give accurate details. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- Accounts are activated by a coordinator for your congregation. Coordinators and the KHOC coordinator may see and change the details of people in the congregations they manage.
- You are responsible for what you do while signed in, including from a text link that stands in for signing in for 24 hours. Do not forward those links to anyone else.
Text messages and emails
By giving us your mobile number you agree to receive text messages (and, if your committee enables it, WhatsApp messages) about jobs assigned to you, reminders when they are due, and a nudge if one is overdue. We do not send marketing. Standard rates from your mobile provider may apply. Ask your coordinator to remove your number if you no longer want messages; the service will then only reach you by email and the app.
Acceptable use
You must not use the service to break the law, to send abusive or misleading content, to try to gain access to accounts or data that are not yours, to interfere with how the service runs, or to copy or scrape its content. Uploaded documents must be relevant to the committee's accounts and must not contain anything you do not have the right to share. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.
Your content
Anything you or your committee record in the service, such as job cards, notes, transactions and uploaded documents, belongs to you and your committee. You give us permission to store, display and process it so we can run the service, and no more. Coordinators can export the accounts ledger and the committee can ask us for a copy of its data at any time.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and will tell you about planned maintenance where we can, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, improve or withdraw features. If we intend to close the service we will give at least 60 days' notice and make the committee's data available for download.
Our liability
The service is provided as a tool to help with planning and record keeping; it does not replace the committee's own checks. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the service, for missed or late messages (which depend on mobile networks and third parties), or for content entered by users. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law. If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time and ask a coordinator to deactivate your account. We may close accounts that have been inactive for a long period or that break these terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
